About Me

Hello. My name is Simon Rutter and I live in Portsmouth on the south coast of England, UK.

I specialise in documentary, urban and event photography but have experience in a wide range of other photographic genres including fine art, portraiture and land/seascapes.

Photography provides me with the chance to capture those unique moments of life, creating lasting memorable images. I want to make images that tell a story or evoke emotion - that's what keeps my interest fresh and alive. 

I favour black and white for most of my images as I'm drawn to its timeless quality, focus on shape and form and its depth of contrasting tones. I do make forays into the world of colour every now and then though...just so I keep a foot in the world of reality!
